Living In Barcelona
A city full of life, punctuated with modernist architecture and a vibrant culture like no other; Barcelona is a European destination that reveals more of its charm on every visit. Since King Jaime I was crowned King of Aragon in 1213, Barcelona's striking architecture attracts visitors far and wide. Now a dynamic and cosmopolitan city, there will be something new to discover with every visit. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the rich history and gastronomy or revel in the talent of Joan Miró, Antoni Gaudí and other artists whose work defines the Catalan capital, a holiday home in Barcelona opens up a world of enlightenment.
Travelling To Barcelona
Barcelona is easy to travel to from the US and Europe, with international flights to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) all year round. Most of the city is simple to navigate by foot, making it an ideal, leisurely destination for friends and family.
Barcelona's Dynamic Culture
Barcelona is renowned for being home to some of the world's finest art and architectural wonders. From the Picasso Museum to the (almost complete) Sagrada Familia, there are plenty of heritage sights and galleries to discover. With vibrant markets to explore and medieval marvels in the Gothic corner - all with a thread of Antoni Gaudí’s modernist work running throughout - Barcelona ignites the senses at every turn.
Culinary Experiences
When it comes to gastronomy, Barcelona is in a league of its own. From local Catalan canteens, that serve both exceptional tapas and priceless atmosphere, to Michelin-recommended restaurants where fresh fish and delicately cured meats adorn the menu, you can have it all. Casa Alfonso is a long-time August favourite and happens to be in the Eixample neighbourhood where our Pied À Terre and Grand Pied À Terre apartments live. Find your favourites with our guide to Barcelona’s food scene.
The Catalan Coast
There aren’t many destinations in Europe where an effervescent city atmosphere and beach life go hand in hand. Co-owning an apartment in Barcelona will unlock the best of both worlds, letting you go from your favourite museums to a glittering coastline in under an hour by foot. Nova Icària Beach is said to be one of the calmer sandy spots, with clear waters, that is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and watersports.
When To Visit
Naturally, those who want guaranteed warm weather may wish to book time in their Pied À Terre apartments during peak season, in April, May, June, September and October. July and August are wonderful months for sightseeing, while an impromptu trip in shoulder season will undoubtedly unveil another charismatic side to the city.
