Is Mallorca worth a visit during the off season?

One of the many great reasons to have a second home in Mallorca is that it’s truly all year-round destination. One would think that the Balearic island gets rainy and cold quickly after the August and September peak season, but in fact, this dreamy island is full of sunshine even in late October and November. Our homeowners Fiona and David, from the Signature Collection, are currently enjoying their holidays in the sunny Sóller in Mallorca and shared their experience with us.

“It is five years since we last stayed in Soller – one of our favourite places to visit at any time of the year. In the past, we have either stayed in small hotels or rented houses and we would always scan the estate agents’ windows, idly wondering what it would be like to own a house there. And now, thanks to August, our dream has come true as we co-own the most wonderful townhouse right in the middle of Sóller. We can go back as often as we want with friends and family to continue exploring this very special area.” Fiona and David were one of the first people to join our most popular Signature Collection. They were looking for a second home for a while but they would never quite decide where it should be and they were worried about the hassle that comes with it. Now, as Signature Collection homeowners, they have an access to five beautifully interior designed homes across Europe: Mallorca, South of France, Tuscany, Chamonix and The Cotswolds. This time they decided to travel to Mallorca after five years and we are pleased they had a fantastic and hassle-free holiday as it should be!

“Despite having seen photos throughout the buying and renovation process, the August house exceeded our expectations. We thought that a townhouse might seem cramped, but the feeling of space and proportion throughout is fabulous – although this is hard to capture in photos. As ever with August houses, the attention to detail and use of original features makes the house ooze with character."

"We spent a very happy five days walking up and over mountains, wandering into town to eat, shop and visit the local museums, jumping on local buses to explore other villages, and taking a boat trip along the spectacular coastline. But best of all was spending time at the house savouring those magnificent views, and feeling totally at home!
