August is the natural continuation of having helped and assisted families in finding and renovating holiday homes abroad. Our founders realised that having to settle for only one location and dealing with the many expenses and burdens that come with owning a second home didn’t make sense for most, especially when using it 35 days a year on average.‍The idea of co-owning a holiday home with others is not new, as many friends or families have done this organically in the past. We have streamlined the home-ownership process so like minded individuals can co-own together and developed a structure that gives our home-owners full ownership, transparency but also zero hassle.

August was founded by Mélie Dunod and Nico Watzenig in 2019. August is a vertically integrated real estate group with 30+ years of experience developing and designing holiday homes across Europe.

No, once a Collection is formed the homes are solely owned by the Homeowners that make up the Collection.

August acts as the administrator for the Collection when all the homes are in use. We look after the Collection’s interests in terms of day-to-day operations, including convening general meetings, and also provide a director for the partnership company. In addition, August handles the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and more.
