Tell us about yourself
Born in the heart of Barcelona and raised across the globe in six different countries, my journey has led me to London more recently. My role at August revolves around meticulously overseeing Spanish market projects, ensuring the delivery of our exceptional homes in Barcelona and Mallorca. Lately, I've been hyper-focused on our Signature and Premium homes in Mallorca. Beyond work, I can often be found on the tennis courts and thrive when I’m working across diverse cultural projects.
Tell us about your history with Barcelona
With my roots in Barcelona, I have cherished memories around every corner of this city. An added bonus with my role at August is that I get to balance my time between Barcelona and London, enjoying the best of both worlds.
Which are your favourite locations to stay in, and why?
Sant Gervasi, where I once lived, holds a special place in my heart. It exudes a familiar charm and offers a glimpse into local life. Everyone is so welcoming and I think it would feel ‘homely’ regardless of where you’re from.
And where do you love to visit when you're in the city?
Not so much a place to visit but I’m big on having a routine, regardless of where I am. To kickstart my day, a glass of fresh orange juice paired with an "ensaïmada" from the local cafe sets the perfect tone before I head to our construction sites, whether in Barcelona or Mallorca.
If you had to choose one restaurant to dine at in Barcelona, where would it be and why?
Bar Alfonso in Barcelona holds a special spot in my heart. The ambience, the flavours - it's a true gastronomic delight. My description will never do it justice.
And beyond this restaurant, what are some of your top picks for food & drink, and why?
Flash Flash and Cerveceria Catalana, Botafumeiro, and Pez Vela continue to be my favourites in Barcelona. These classics never disappoint. Among them, Botafumeiro is probably one of the best, if not the best, seafood restaurants in Spain.
Is there an activity that you think everyone must do when in the region?
You have to go on a wine-tasting journey in Alella when in Barcelona, is an experience that perfectly encapsulates the region's essence. For a change of scenery, a day trip to Costa Brava in Barcelona offers an ideal getaway.
Who is your local hero, and why?
Ben, my French partner. He’s always on hand to collect me from the airport and make coming back to Barcelona all the more exciting each and every time I return.
What's your favourite thing about the region?
It’s home for me. It’s a manageable city, you can easily get around and explore. You have everything you could possibly want within an hour and half radius from incredible beaches, world-class gastronomy and even mountains for skiing. It feels very ‘local’ like you’re never far from the action.
When you're not in Barcelona, is there anything that instantly transports you back or evokes a memory of the city?
Communities - wherever I am, I’m always looking for my people and my golden moments. In Spain it’s super common to spend lots of time with friends and family, enjoying tapas and great wine so I cherish these types of gatherings, they feel like a piece of Barcelona to me.
