“When designing the outside areas of our Premium homes, naturally, the pool takes center-stage, but we always consider the whole garden space,” shares Head of Design, Karolina Wierzbicka.

“We put as much thought into our exterior spaces as our interiors, they are a natural part of our design process.” This way you can comfortably spend hours by the pool after a day of exploration, whether you are having a long vacation as a family or hosting guests. “We echo how we design the interiors space, giving careful consideration to defining the natural flow of the exterior and seeing how we can connect it to the interior spaces for indoor-outdoor appeal.”

Enhancing the surroundings

Holidaying in Mallorca, South of France and Tuscany comes with sublime views that go for miles and being able to enjoy the region’s finest landscapes from the poolside or upper terrace is a magical experience for Homeowners.

“Seeing how we can enhance any views from sweet shady spots or any existing terraces, patios, and balconies is an important part of the process,” adds Karolina.

1. Sinking into the beauty of the region

‍

For summer reading accompanied perhaps by une glace à la Pistache, a comfortable place to sit and unwind is essential. “Pools need loungers, of course, in our larger homes we provide enough loungers for every guest teamed with parasols for shade and a side table for the essentials.”

Designed in rich woods for modern appeal and dressed in neutral tones to ignite the landscape, it is the perfect canvas for relaxing on.

We use an array of woods but you can also find decorative metal frames with intricate mesh detail in some of our Signature Collection pools, elevating the home’s exterior. Where the layout allows, we can include more custom seating options for a unique finish: “When space is less abundant we look at other ways to make our guests comfortable, like built in lounge seating as an example,” adds Karolina.

2. Carving out cool pockets for shade and relaxation

When holidaying in the summer months, be that on the Côte d'Azur, in Mallorca or Tuscany, the sun can be very strong. We equip our sun loungers with beautiful parasols that create shade for family and guests, and to add an elevated touch to the poolside area too.

“We also think about the time of day the outdoor spaces will be enjoyed, and consider how much shade is required, natural and with parasols,” adds Karolina.

“We consider where our Homeowners would enjoy to lounge together and socialise with family and friends, as well as where they may want to just sit, read, and take a moment for themselves.”

3. Igniting the summertime with striped patterns and pops of colour

To translate every unique region’s flair as well as August’s design personality you will find pops of bright colours and distinct patterns that give a chic, timeless finish.

“We love to use stripes in our textile selections and different colours per region where available.”

Many of our pool and beach towels are sourced from Peshtemel House in Turkey. They are crafted in a beautiful cotton low pile towelling fabric which makes them soft, absorbent and visually striking.

‍

In Tuscany you will likely find vibrant red soft furnishings, Mallorca features deep yellows and the South of France will be full of greens to reflect the verdant surroundings.
