Home Reveal; Le Rouret

Our real estate acquisition team spend months looking for the perfect home for each collection and this was no exception. They viewed more than 50 potential homes in the South of France before they found a real hidden gem in Le Rouret. Although inside it was dated (yet loved!) it had great bones and an architecturally interesting facade with a curved frontage. The 5,000 sqm plot offered complete privacy, surrounded by mature trees. It presented the perfect opportunity to be completely transformed into a dream holiday home.

History of the home
The land for the home was acquired by the original owner in 1985. They instructed renowned local architect Robert Maestracci to develop the plans for their dream home. Those original plans, preserved for almost 40 years now reside in the study of the home. Maestracci was known for his work of developing some of the most impressive villas in the area, exclusively using local craftsmen and tradespeople to bring the blueprints to life. Something that we continued when renovating the home you see today.
The original owners moved into their home, fittingly in the August of 1986, and remained there until selling their home to August in 2022.
The Renovation
To realise the full potential of this home, the downstairs was completely reconfigured to add a second principal suite on ground level, expand the kitchen and bring it into the heart of the home.
This creates the perfect flow for downstairs bringing inviting indoor/outdoor living with a large terrace added alongside the living area to make the most of the expansive gardens and view of the pool below.
Upstairs the three bedrooms were re-imagined the August Way with brand new bathrooms added to bring this home to a four bed, three bath home with two separate WCs.
Upstairs you will find double door terrace and balcony access from all bedrooms - really adding to the light and airy feeling of the home, you can almost sense the cool summer breeze coming though the delicate drapery.
The colour scheme throughout was inspired by the earthy muted tones of the region, whilst touching upon the nautical history and playfulness of the french riviera. The flow of this is felt throughout the house and makes it feel relaxing whilst cosy. This is especially prevalent in the bedrooms where each has its own look and feel for our homeowners to choose from.
Outside, a new travertine outdoor dining area was developed and completed by a table set that was due to be destroyed before our team carefully restored it. We continued this travertine flooring across all terraces to create a consistent and complementary finish throughout the outdoor space.
Located in rural Le Rouret, the home is within a community of private homes close to the centre of town and its many restaurants and shops to explore.
